Innexin may interact with many molecules in cells – such as Grasp65.

Grasp65-GFP accumulates at high levels at the sites of gap junction plaques. UAS-Grasp65-GFP expressed in pupal salivary glands under the control of C96-GAL4 occupies extensive but discrete subcellular domains. Sections near the basal (non-lumenal) end of cells (sections 1+2) reveal little overlap between Inx2 (red) and Grasp65-GFP (green) (arrows). Sections nearer the apical (lumen) end of cells (sections 3+4) show accumulation of Grasp65-GFP within plaque-occupied-areas (arrowheads). Colocalisation of the colours red (Inx2) and green (Grasp65-GFP) produces yellow plaques. Size bars = 5μm.
