Inx2 protein distribution in amnioserosa cells.
The image shows amnioserosa cells (As) on the dorsal surface of an 8-10 hour old wild type embryo prior to dorsal closure. Inx2 protein (green) is detected using anti-Inx2 rabbit polyclonal primary antibody and an FITC-conjugated anti-rabbit secondary. Inx2 accumulates at discrete plaques at the plasma membrane (arrowheads) and strongly resembles plaques produced by Ogre and Inx3. It is possible that there is some physical interaction between these three innexins in amnioserosa cells. The protein distribution seen here differs markedly from that observed for mutant Inx2 protein produced by Inx2TA181 and Inx2UA104 animals.
