UAS-inx2 expression disrupts leg joint formation.
The photograph shows the five tarsal segments (T) of a Drosophila leg of genotype DllGAL4 / UAS-inx22UE10. Arrows point to abnormal / reduced joints between the segments due to over-expression of wild type Inx2 protein during development. The tarsal segments themselves (bristle morphology, segment length, etc.) appear to be unaffected by inx2 overexpression.
