Wing phenotypes observed expressing multiple UAS-innexins. UAS-inx2 and UAS-inx7.

In this case the C96GAL4 ( Gustafson and Boulianne, 1996) line drives expression of both Inx2 and Inx7 in the developing wing margin. The observed wing serration phenotype (arrowheads) is stronger than that observed when UAS-inx2 or UAS-inx7 are expressed alone but is not as strong as when two copies of UAS-inx2 are co-expressed. Therefore, there is no detectable developmental synergism between these two innexins during wing development....at least using this approach.
